We used to work in the call centre industry – we know how they operate, the technologies, the tricks that some of them use, and how lists of phone numbers can be passed around from company to company.

We developed trueCall – the UK’s first call blocking device. trueCall has won many awards (including ‘Product of the year’), and in independent trials has been shown to block over 95% of nuisance calls. In 2009 trueCall was featured on the BBC TV programme Dragons’ Den and got offers from all five Dragons. trueCall technology has been licenced to BT who have incorporated it into the BT8500 phone – currently the UK’s best selling phone. There is a special version - trueCall Care - to protect older and vulnerable people from nuisance calls.

Half a million people in the UK are now protected from nuisance phone calls by trueCall technology.

We thought that everyone should have the opportunity to opt out of handing over their phone number unless they wanted to, so we launched trueCall38 - a completely free service.
